What Changes After It's Ceramic Coated
The difference shows up on wash day. Water sheets off instead of drying into spots, bug splatter and bird droppings rinse away instead of etching, and the car goes from a two-hour job to about twenty minutes — with no wax to reapply every few months.
Getting there starts with correction, because a coating is transparent: Level 1 removes 50% or more of the swirls and scratches in your clear coat, Level 2 takes it past 80%, and whatever's left is what you'll be looking at for the next three to eight years. Then our professional grade ceramic coating goes on in our shop rather than a driveway — dust, temperature and cure time all change how a coating bonds, and none of those are things you can control outdoors.

Frequently asked questions about ceramic coating
What Is Ceramic Coating And Why Does It Matter?
Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that chemically bonds to your car's clear coat and cures into a thin, transparent layer. It isn't wax and it doesn't wash off — it stays on the paint for years, taking UV, bird droppings, sap and road film so the clear coat underneath doesn't. It will not protect from scratches or rock chips, that's where PPF comes in. It matters most somewhere like Oklahoma, where summer sun and hard water do more damage to paint than anything you actually drive through.

How long does a ceramic coating last?

The number on the bottle is a ceiling, not a promise. We install 3, 5 and 8 year coatings, and what you actually get out of one comes down to two things.
The first is where the car lives. A garage-kept weekend car and a daily driver parked outside at a job site aren't the same job for a coating. Oklahoma sun is hard on paint, and a car sitting in it all summer works its coating harder than one that only comes out on weekends. Add hail season, road treatment in February and the red dirt that gets into everything, and the same product ages at very different rates on two cars a mile apart.
The second is how it gets washed. A coating usually doesn't stop working because it wore out — it stops working because contamination built up on top of it. Washed properly, two buckets and a clean mitt, an 8 year coating should still be beading well into year seven. Run through a brush tunnel every month, the same coating will disappoint you by year three. When we quote you, we'll tell you which level makes sense for how you actually drive the car.
Are ceramic coatings worth the money?
Absolutely! At Showroom Detailing in Oklahoma City, we believe ceramic coatings offer exceptional value for protecting and enhancing your vehicle. Unlike traditional waxes or sealants, ceramic coatings create a durable, long-lasting shield that resists dirt, UV damage, and chemical stains, keeping your car looking showroom-new for years. Although the upfront cost is higher, the benefits include easier maintenance, a brilliant glossy finish, and significant time savings on cleaning. Our premium ceramic coating service ensures expert application using high-quality products, delivering optimal protection tailored to your vehicle’s needs. Investing in ceramic coating with Showroom Detailing is a smart choice for anyone who wants lasting beauty and superior defense for their car.

Do you offer a warranty on ceramic coating?

Yes. Level 1 is guaranteed for three years, Level 2 for five and Level 3 for eight, provided the car comes back once a year for its $299 maintenance service — a full exterior wash, decontamination and a fresh topcoat. If a coating fails within that window, we deal with the manufacturer on your behalf, and if they don't cover it, we take care of it ourselves.
The guarantee covers oxidation, loss of gloss, UV damage, acid rain and chalking. It doesn't cover rock chips, scratches, swirl marks, water spots, hail or collision damage, and brush car washes void it. It's registered to you and doesn't transfer if you sell the car.

The Coatings We Use

Most shops carry one coating line, because that's what their distributor sells them. We've been running four, and we pick based on the car in front of us rather than what's on the shelf.
System X — our workhorse line, with tiers from a solid two-year product up to the flagship. Consistent to apply, easy to maintain, and backed by a manufacturer network that handles claims properly.
Gyeon — known for slickness and self-cleaning behavior. The whole ecosystem, from prep to maintenance topper, is built to work together, which shows up in how the car behaves months later.
Gtechniq — the hardest-wearing of the four, with strong chemical and etch resistance. This is what we reach for on a car that lives outside or sees real weather.
Whichever one goes on your car, we'll tell you which we're using and why before we start, and we register its manufacturer warranty. Our 3, 5 and 8 year guarantee applies either way.
